For the forthcoming season the Swiss avalanche specialist WYSSEN installed three avalanche towers in Ischgl and one in Galtür. For the decision-makers of the two top ski regions in Paznaun, the exchange of experience and the assessment of reference facilities were actually very "obvious": Because in the Swiss partner ski area Samnaun WYSSEN had already installed 49 systems
The Standard - 09/2009: Heal the wounds inflicted on the mountain
Salzburg/Kaprun - in winter it's not so bad: The white blanket of snow mercifully covers up the environmental damage in the ski areas. In the summer months it is different: The ski slopes often manifest themselves as flattened ribbons of land without any vegetation.
