The operation of equipment for the artificial triggering of avalanches is subject to certain residual risks, such as e.g. the generation of avalanches which prove to be larger than expected, the appearance of unexploded charges (which then needs to be retrieved from the site), technical malfunctions which prevent the charges being triggered, an unintended detonation of explosives during handling caused by improper work, etc. The supplier rejects any liability in conjunction with the delivered equipment in the event of injuries to persons or damage to property caused by detonations or unexploded charges. The supplier shall also not be liable for consequential damages caused by uncontrolled avalanches, equipment malfunctions and/or by avalanches which are larger or smaller than those which were anticipated. The operator must correspondingly select alternative safety procedures, and if necessary must evacuate and block off the area at risk. Releasing of avalanches above people and buildings must not be done before evacuation.
