The wyssen avalanche control AG is a subsidiary of Wyssen Cableways Ltd, which was founded in 1926. Following a positive development in the sector of artificial release of avalanches, the wyssen avalanche control AG was founded for this sector in 2009.

In only 5 years or so we have become the market leader in Switzerland in the sector of artificial avalanche release for installations with remote-controlled avalanche release. Originally our avalanche towers were practically exclusively used in the ski areas; in the meantime the proportion for protecting transport routes has risen to almost 50%.
The reliability, effectiveness and simple operation together with our maintenance concept are the most important factors that have contributed to this success. It speaks for itself, that in Samnaun over the years we have been able to install over fifty systems for protecting transport routes, settlement boundary areas (in combination with constructional measures) and ski runs. Or that the tourist centres of Zermatt and St. Moritz have been able to rely on our avalanche protection systems and services for their feeder traffic routes, both road and rail, and for their main highways.

We not only offer reliable and effective systems for releasing avalanches, but also support the customer already in the project planning phase in the choice of the optimal location of the installation after the avalanche starting zones have been recognised and the deployment of artificial release has been recommended as a reasonable solution by an expert opinion.
